The West Hartford Taxpayers Association (WHTA) was founded in 1933 to monitor, to inform and to educate town citizens as to where and how their tax dollars are being spent. The association is dedicated to the proposition that town government can be operated efficiently to provide needed services at a fair cost to the citizens of West Hartford. As a non-partisan organization, WHTA seeks to review and advocate for West Hartford’s taxpayer’s interests.
WHTA offers input to the Town Council, Board of Education and West Hartford Town Staff that can be used to provide more efficient, more effective, cost saving suggestions for the town and its citizens to consider. WHTA will work to monitor state and local political activities and provide tapayer/citizen education programs regarding the impact on taxes.
WHTA believes that the monitoring, collection, analysis and distribution of this data will constitue a valuable non-partisan information decision resource for West Hartford and its citizens.
